Our branch at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill selects ~40 students to work on semester-long projects with clients from a variety of industries. Consultants come from diverse backgrounds and academic interests to provide creative solutions to your organization’s problems.

Welcome to 180 Degrees Consulting at UNC! We are the UNC-Chapel Hill branch of the largest international student-led consultancy group and the premier student consulting group on campus. Whether you are a client interested in our services or a student interested in joining our organization, we thank you for your interest in 180!
Our consulting group works with nonprofits, socially-minded businesses, and other organizations across the world in navigating their strategic barriers and achieving their values and goals. We started 6 years ago working with smaller startups within the Triangle area and have rapidly expanded to work with national and international organizations such as Lenovo, Meals on Wheels, and the Special Olympics, just to name a few of our clients. We carefully select our consultants to ensure that we have a diverse, driven team of the best and brightest. With consultants from over 10 majors with various professional aspirations, our greatest offering is our diversity of perspectives within our shared passion for experiential learning and creating impact. In our past projects, we have worked with our clients on a multitude of services such as growth strategy, data science, financial analysis, investment research, leadership restructuring, and consolidation.
Aside from our client engagements, we provide a lucrative growth platform for our consultants to develop their personal and professional skills while having a little fun along the way. Our executive board designs and delivers unique training workshops along with formal and informal mentorships to guide the next generation of consultants. We also bring in consulting firms for 180 Degrees-specific networking opportunities and information sessions to get to know our consultants and expand our professional networks.
A few years ago, we launched the 180 Academy to train the new cohort of first-year students in a semester-long workshop series that builds a strong foundation in leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills in preparation for joining our client engagement teams. We also enjoy a multitude of social events every year, including dinners, getaways, group outings, and more!
We joined 180 Degrees Consulting at UNC-Chapel Hill as freshmen who were uncertain about our career aspirations but were certain about our common passion for innovation and creating tangible impacts. As we look back upon our choices in college, we can both confidently say that 180 Degrees was one of the best decisions and most meaningful experiences we had in college.
